Companies, people and files

What your applications have in common: the companies you apply to, the people you meet, and the documents you send.

Companies

A company is an employer or a recruitment agency, with its website, LinkedIn page, industry, size, headquarters and description. Each name is one company, whatever its capitals, and an application names its company. A company's website or LinkedIn page fills in its details, and its logo.

People

A person is a recruiter, hiring manager, interviewer or referrer, at a company or not. A process lists the people involved and what each is to it; an interview step lists who it's with. A LinkedIn profile fills a person in, from a link or the "Send to hunt" bookmark.

Companies and people are your contacts, shared by every cycle.

Documents and versions

A document is one of your files, kept up over time: your CV, a cover letter, a portfolio, a reference, or one of theirs (an offer, a contract).

  • Each upload is a new version, numbered, tagged ("rust-focused") and noted. A version never changes, so you always know what you sent.
  • A process records which versions went with it, and a version, which processes it went to.
  • Files are kept in the database, so a backup has them too.

Tags

Tags go on applications, companies, people and documents, and the board and the lists filter by them: "dream job", "via Alice", "fintech".
