Closing and reopening

A process ends one way or another: an offer you take, a rejection, a role you turn down, a company that goes quiet. In hunt, closing is a move.

Closing is a stage

A process is closed when it's in a terminal stage, and the sub stage it's in says why. Drop a card on "They rejected me" and it's closed, for that reason. A new hunt's reasons are:

  • My Decision: I withdrew, I declined the offer, I accepted another offer, I started the job …
  • Their Decision: They rejected me, Role filled …
  • Paused / Stopped: On hold, They went silent …

They're sub stages like any other: add your own reasons, or another terminal stage, in Settings → Board. Make an active stage terminal and what's in it closes; make it active again and it reopens.

Closed isn't gone

A closed process keeps everything: its steps, notes, people and files, and the furthest stage it reached, which Stats and Cycles count it at.

Reopen it from its page, or drag it back onto an active column. Reopen puts it back in the stage it had reached.

An accepted offer

Accepting an offer moves the process to its stage's Accepted lane, with a note (a start date, say). It's not closed yet: references, checks and the start may be ahead, so it stays on the board until you close it as "I started the job". Then hunt helps wrap up the rest of the search (close the others, or keep them open with a reminder to tell the recruiter), and celebrates with you.
