Backups

Settings → Backup and import, or hunt backup and hunt restore.

• What's in one: a single JSON file with everything (processes, applications, companies, people, files, tags, settings and the change log). The Gmail connection is left out, so no password or sign-in is ever in a backup.
• Moving between databases: a backup works with any of them, so it also moves data from one to another, such as SQLite to PostgreSQL.
• Importing:
  • replaces everything, all or nothing: a backup that doesn't fit leaves things as they were;
  • says what the file holds and asks first;
  • only takes backups at the current schema version.
